Denver, CO – May 14, 2019 – Allay Consulting (Allay) – the preeminent cannabis compliance consulting firm in North America – is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with an international certifying company to usher in a new era of quality and safety certifications for the rapidly evolving cannabis industry – including hemp and marijuana. These highly recognized certifications go above and beyond the existing safety standards and will bring the cannabis industry in line with the more stringent compliance requirements experienced in global food production and agriculture.
In establishing these standards, Allay Consulting have targeted three focus areas: Food Safety Management (to ensure that all relevant food safety hazards are identified and adequately controlled), Occupational Health and Safety (to minimize the occurrence of occupational injury and disease), and Good Manufacturing Practices (to ensure that products are consistently high in quality, from batch to batch, for their intended use). Through this partnership, the following certifications are possible for the cannabis and hemp markets for the first time:
- ISO 22000 Food Safety Management
- ISO 45001 OSHA
- HACCP + GMP
Client companies interested in these advanced certifications will experience a two-tier engagement. Tier 1 begins with the client company scheduling an onsite Baseline Compliance Evaluation with Allay. Allay will conduct the evaluation and provide a written report detailing items that would inhibit certification. Allay and the client company will then create a plan to remediate all issues and clear the way for certification (typically 6 to 12 months). Once remediation is complete, Allay will conduct a final Compliance Assessment to determine if the client company is approved for the Standardization Audit. Upon approval, Tier 2 begins, as the international certifying company team will engage to perform the audit for certification. The client company will receive all certifications directly from international certifying company.
“By partnering with this international certifying company to deliver ISO and GMP Certifications to the cannabis industry, Allay is bringing a whole new level of safety and standardization,” said Kim Stuck, Founder of Allay Consulting. “In offering these certifications to our clients, we are giving each one of them the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to safety and providing confidence to their customers.”
